Meta released Muse Glimmer, a 30B-parameter open-weights model under Apache 2.0 optimized for always-on local agents, coding, and tool use, with multimodal input, long-context reasoning, failure recovery, and scaffold compatibility. Using ~4-bit quantization and a DFlash-based speculative drafter, it runs interactively on a single 24–32 GB GPU (≈17–20 GB footprint) and posts strong results on agentic/coding benchmarks like SWE-Bench, DeepSearch QA, MCP-Atlas, and Tau-Bench. Near-term integrations with llama.cpp, MLX, ExecuTorch, Ollama, LM Studio, vLLM, and SGLang plus comprehensive docs make it practical to ship private, offline, and commercial agents without cloud dependencies.
